Alluvial gemstone deposits are characterized by hosting high-density, incredibly high-value crystals, including Rubies, Sapphires, and Garnets. When processing gemstones, the metallurgical objective is entirely unique: you must achieve maximum recovery without fracturing or scratching the fragile crystals.
Our Gemstone Beneficiation Solution utilizes a highly efficient, gentle "Washing + Screening + Gravity" flowsheet. Because we rely entirely on 100% physical sorting methods—utilizing rubber-lined scrubbers, jigs, and shaking tables—we ensure the absolute structural integrity of the gemstone crystals. This turnkey solution is chemical-free, requires low operational costs, and effectively processes raw materials from 0.5mm up to 30mm.

This flowsheet focuses on intense washing to dissolve clay, followed by precise, zero-impact gravity separation to catch the heavy gems.
Gemstones are often locked inside sticky laterite clay that must be dissolved without crushing the stones.
The graded, washed gravel is sent to specific gravity separators based on particle size to separate the heavy gems from the light quartz gravel.
After sorting, the barren tailings are dewatered and safely stockpiled or used for mine backfill. Because this process uses zero chemicals, process water is aggressively recycled through thickeners, ensuring a water recycling rate of > 85% and vastly reducing operating costs.
| Process Link | Core Equipment | Technical Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Ore Washing | Rotary Scrubber | Rubber-lined to prevent gemstone damage. Capacity: 20-300 t/h. |
| Screening & Grading | Double-Deck Vibrating Screen | Stainless steel anti-clogging mesh. Capacity: 30-150 t/h. |
| Gravity Roughing | Sawtooth Wave Jigger | Adjustable stroke for precise density separation. Capacity: 5-50 t/h. |
| Fine Grain Recovery | Spiral Concentrator | Recovers -0.5mm fine-grained gems/garnets to reduce losses. |
| Gravity Fine Selection | 6-S Shaking Table | Fiberglass anti-corrosion bed for ultimate purity. Capacity: 0.5-2 t/h. |
A: This is the most critical aspect of gemstone plant design. Standard rotary scrubbers use bare steel drums; when large rocks tumble inside, they can easily fracture fragile crystals. Our Gemstone Rotary Scrubbers are lined with thick, industrial-grade rubber. This rubber lining acts as a shock absorber, gently breaking down the clay while ensuring the high-value crystals remain perfectly intact.
A: Gemstones over 5mm (+5mm) hold immense commercial value as individual specimen pieces or jewelry cuts. Rather than risking these large stones in mechanical jigs or tables, we route the oversized, washed gravel onto a slow-moving picking belt. Trained workers visually identify and manually extract the largest rubies and sapphires immediately, ensuring zero mechanical loss of your most valuable inventory.

If you have a ruby, sapphire, or garnet alluvial mining project, GravityMineral provides professional, economical, and highly reliable turnkey solutions.
