Sapphire Gravity Beneficiation Solution

This sapphire beneficiation solution provides a highly efficient process centered on "washing-screening-gravity beneficiation" for the mineral properties of sapphire (corundum, Al₂O₃). Through physical methods to remove clay, sand and other impurities, using the density difference between sapphire and vein minerals to achieve efficient separation and enrichment, to ensure high recovery rate while maximizing the protection of the integrity of gemstone crystals.


I. Process Overview

Sapphire is characterized by high density (3.95-4.03 g/cm³) and crystal integrity, which makes it suitable for the physical separation process mainly based on gravity separation. This sapphire gravity separation solution realizes efficient recovery of sapphire through washing and screening pretreatment, jig roughing and shaking table selection, which has the advantages of simple flow, investment, environmental protection and no pollution, especially suitable for alluvial sapphire deposits.


Second, the process flow introduction

  1. Washing and screening system

    • Raw ore enters the rotary scrubber, which effectively removes clay and surface adherents;

    • The washed material is graded by double-deck vibrating screen (+5mm, 5-2mm, 2-0.5mm, -0.5mm);

    • The +5mm screened material can be manually picked to eliminate the large waste rock and improve the subsequent sorting efficiency.

  2. Re-election enrichment system

    • 5-0.5mm grain size material enters the jigger, utilizing the density difference to separate sapphire from quartz, feldspar and other light minerals;

    • -0.5mm fine-grained grade can be recovered by spiral concentrator to reduce the loss of micro-fine-grained gemstones;

    • The jig concentrate enters the shaking table for selection to further improve the grade of sapphire.

  3. Tailings treatment and water recovery

    • After sorting, the tailings are treated by dewatering screen and then stockpiled or backfilled;

    • Process water is recycled to reduce water consumption and environmental impact.
